The Navigation panel is very important for EasyEDA: it is from here that you can find all your projects, files, parts and footprints. It does not search the Description and Content fields.Ĭlick the X to clear the filter. The Filter only searches project, file and part titles and names. For example, if you want to find all files containing “NE555” in the title, just type “555”, it is non-case-sensitive. Global UIīefore using the Filter, you need to select what module you need in the left navigation panel, and then you can quickly and easily find projects, files, parts and footprints, just by typing a few letters of the title. You can use its every function very easily when you become familiar with EasyEDA. The design flow as below:ĮasyEDA Editor has a clearly and friendly user interface. You can create circuits design easily by using EasyEDA. More than 500,000 Libraries(Symbol and Footprint).Mutil-sheet and hierarchical schematics.

  • A solution to the Android and iOS programming dilemma.
  • So just to recap, from a standing start to two weeks in, I have: I’ll see what I can do about posting a block diagram of what I have in mind. It’ll also help me get the proof-of-concept VLC circuit up and running (I’ll need two boards for this). Speaking of Arduino, I though that using this as a development path for the hardware might save a bit of time and effort prior to committing to a custom PCB. If anyone has had any experience making the conversion, I’d love to hear from them.

I’ll download Eagle CAD today, and let you know how it goes. So rather than throwing yet more time to getting Protel up and running again and continue on my previous path to technical obsolescence, I’ll walk up yet another steep learning curve and see where it gets me. All the Arduino boards, for instance, come with Eagle CAD schematic files (it could have been you, Protel!) I’ve managed to get around the problems with Protel 99SE in the past, but the more I look around the more I realise that Eagle Cad seems to be the de-facto standard now for open source electronic designs. My version is legit, by the way, just in case anyone comes asking questions…

You know you’ve made a bad move when people don’t even bother to pirate your software any more. Their software became convoluted, confusing and completely unusable. It was such a shame – they had a really great package that everyone used (and Uni students pirated), then they went and changed they way people used it by adding the most confusing user interface known to man – all in the name of “unifying the entire electronic product development process”. Not to mention the fact that the software hasn’t been supported by Protel (now Altium) for more than a decade. In the past I’ve used Protel 99SE for schematic capture and PCB layout, but unfortunately it has compatibility issues with Windows 7. I’ve been wondering about the best way to approach the circuit design this time around. We’ll be chatting over the weekend where I’ll fill him in on some of the details. Excellent news! I’ve contacted my friend in the US and he’s interested in collaborating on the project.
